Arghavan Boroujeni was born in 1988 in Boroujen. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Painting from the University of Art in Neyshabur and a master’s degree from Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran. In addition to her painting practice, she currently teaches at Pars University and the University of Art in Tehran. Arghavan has also served as a judge in many art events, including visual arts festivals organized by the Ministry of Education, and she is a member of the Iranian Painters Association. In her collections, the viewer is confronted with a world that, while seemingly minimal and simple on the surface, carries deep emotional weight, layers of memory, and an air of mystery. Through abstract language and the elimination of unnecessary details, the artist creates a visual atmosphere where silence speaks loudly. A sense of a quiet feast runs through the works — an inner celebration held not through noise, but through soft childhood whispers, nostalgic symbols, and colors that stir long-forgotten memories. Elements from the world of childhood, such as Pinocchio, appear in these enigmatic spaces, taking the viewer back to a time when imagination and reality were still intertwined. Their presence is not merely rooted in longing, but reflects an attempt to reclaim a lost part of the self — the raw, imaginative, and unfiltered essence of being. These paintings do not narrate a specific story, nor do they reflect the external natural world. Rather, each work is a window inward — an invitation to pause, to see something that might remain hidden in the rush of daily life. This body of work calls us to slow down, to reflect, and to encounter those often-ignored parts of the psyche.
