Moein Shafei
Born in Tehran in February 1363. Cinema and film making graduate degrees
(photography-filming)
Since 1379, He began his career with the movie “On the black background.”
Then he made 12 short documentary fiction films. He became the Jury of Roshd
film festival in the same year, and 1380 was elected to represent youth Jury Film
Festival. His films: “On the black background” “On Earth,” “We don’t call this movie
bracelet” could win prizes in festivals.
He won an award for the best documentary independent short film for the movie “The
morning star”.
After that, he participated in making TV series independently and cooperated in
planning activities. He was the first assistant director, the screenwriter for 5
telefilms, editor of the movie.
“Tomorrow” was directed by Iman Afsharian and Mehdi Pakdel, and he
cooperated as the counselor of director in the documentary film “The memories of
abandoned house” (1394) directed by Mehdi Farsi. The experience mentioned
he had in filmmaking, but he started photography as a profession in 1384. When
one of his photos was published in the “Tandis” journal, then his frame was represented
in an exhibition called “schizoid” (Aban Gallery ) with three members group called “Ema.”
then the exhibition of 1 pix (the Artists’ house-1394) was held. In 1394 the book “Ten
gates” was published by “Saye Nima publication.” The book consists of ten shots
and ten stories by Moein Shafei.
On July 15th-2016, A Solo Photomontage Exhibition was held by Moein Shafei
at Shirin Art Gallery, Tehran-Iran.
