Biography

Born in 1971, Hovsepian has had a deep fascination with Mount Damavand for years—one that has led him from the realm of sports to the world of art. His first encounter with the mountain and the dancing clouds above it dates back over 20 years when, as part of a group of paragliders, he ascended to its summit and witnessed firsthand the unity between the mountain and the natural events surrounding it. Since then, he has embraced every opportunity to capture these breathtaking phenomena with his camera.

Over the course of his professional career, Hovsepian has held seven solo exhibitions. Portrait of Mt. Damavand is his eighth solo exhibition and his second at Shirin Gallery.

He also descries this collection as follows:

She does not demand the spotlight nor clamor for recognition, yet her presence quietly shapes the world in a gracious, reserved way.
She stands alone.
She is an exception, yet she is one among many.

Worshiping the self violates the dignity of being human. It goes against the essence of what it means to be human.
The meaning of “I” cannot exist without “you.”
